ultimate sound	végső hang
You follow the path that is yours alone. You look neither right not left but carry on undistracted. What is still before you cannot be your future. What is now beneath your feet is not the present. What is already behind you is not your past. It is not shapes or colours that lead you on but your inner voice. The voice that grasps the ultimate truth. But it is a sound that no-one ever uttered.	Haladsz az Úton mely csak a tiéd. Nem nézel egyik oldalra sem csak folytatod töretlenül. Mi most előtted van jövőd nem lehet. Mi lábad alatt van már az nem jelen. Mi most hátad mögé kerül még nem a múlt. Nem formák nem színek hanem egy belső hang vezet. A hang mely a végső lényeget ragadja meg. De ezt a hangot még senkinek sem sikerült kiejtenie.
I have never built myself a hause; even flowers I always buy for others. I do not go to others with advice; when I asked I answer. I am at peace. today succeeds yesterday tomorrow succeeds today.	házat magamnak sose építettem. virágot is mindig másnak veszek. tanácsokkal máshoz nem megyek. ha megkérdeznek: válaszolok. nyugodt vagyok. tegnapot ma követ mát mindig holnap.
everything you have is born within you. there's just one way to ensure it's really yours: touch but do not disturb.	benned minden már adva van. s hogy legtisztábban tiéd is legyen annak módja csak egy: megérinteni de hozzá nem nyúlni.
in different ways the sun shines in different ways we live our lives in different ways we think our thoughts. from one bowl we eat many kinds of food.	a nap másképp világít az életet másképp éled gondolatod másképp szólal. egy tálból eszünk másféle ételt.
expressing yourself in words is in the same as not saying what you really are. speak! speak!	szavakban kifejezni magad annyi mint elhallgatni mi lényeged lehet. beszélj! beszélj!
the sun's still shinning but in the distance it thunders darkly. after today's joys comes tomorrow's grief - the complete circle -	még süt a nap de a távolban már sötéten dörög. mai örömre holnap gyász jöhet - így teljes az egész -.
master and students the two sides of consiousness the student asks the master answers. the question is silence the answer a question. the master a student the student a master. be my master that I may teach you!	mester és tanítvány a tudat két oldala. a tanítvány kérdez a mester válaszol a kérdés hallgatás a válasz kérdés. a mester tanítvány a tanítvány mester. légy mesterem hogy taníthassalak!
the question is not which is the moment of death but rather till which moment is life.	nem az a kérdés: mely pillanattól vagy halott hanem az mely pillanatig vagy élő.
I'm not like this and I won't be like that. if I were like this or that I wouldn't be what I am.	nem vagyok ilyen és nem leszek olyan. ha ilyen vagy olyan lennék már nem lennék az ami vagyok.
can you come face to face with time? can you tow the moon through the sky in place of the sun? there's no need to answer! I don't understand everything either. why do we need to say anything anyway?	elébe tudsz-e menni az időnek? nap helyett a holdat az égre tudod-e tolni? ne gondold hogy válaszolnod kéne! hisz mindehhez én sem értek. miért is kellene bármit is mondanunk?
seldom meeting often together.	ritkán találkozni gyakran együtt lenni.
why do you ponder which way to go? listen to the resonans of your inner voice. go where it directs your feet show the way your spirit the goal.	miért kutatnád merre indulj? figyelj: a belső hang finoman rezdül. csak kövesd irányát! lábad mutatja az utat szellemed a célt.
the last thought soaring above your cloud; the last breath that still may change you; the first word the very last to be heard; and the fallen feather the last to fly.	az utolsó gondolat mely felhőd fölött vonul az utolsó lélegzet mely még mindig megváltoztat a legelső szó mely utoljára hangzik; a kihullott madártoll mely utolsót repül.
in the midst of the great river lies a small island. it is bare of bushes and trees yet you can still find rest. but do you know how to reach the bank? (there is no river and no island. how can you reach the bank?)	a nagy folyamban kis sziget. fát bokrot nem találsz rajta mégis megpihenhetsz. de tudod-e hogy lépj a partjára? (nincs folyam és nincs sziget. hogy léphetnél partjaira?)
open fircone open mind. scattering seeds to no avail?	kinyilt toboz kinyilt értelem. magját hiába hullatja?
I come from nowhere I go nowhere. what I am now is just one of my alternatives.	nem jöttem sehonnan nem megyek sehova. az hogy most vagyok egy lehetőség a lehetőségeim között.
don't count the paces that are left to you! many or few it makes no difference. the road stretches clearly before you but it is not the road that falls behind your feet.	ne számold hány lépés ami még hátra van! sok vagy kevés: egyre megy. az út már itt simul a szemed előtt. az út mely nem a lábad alatt kerül a hátad mögé.
to be content with one less than you have may lead to the secret of happines.	beérni épp egy kevesebbel mint ami van kezedbe adja a titkot: boldogság.
waiting and not wanting.	várakozni és nem vágyakozni.
does silence best express things that cannot be said? do words describe what one word cannot reach? it's best to keep one's counsel. you see it makes no difference how the poem ends.	a csönd fejezi ki legjobban a ki nem mondható lényeget? a szavak írják körül mi egy szóval nem éri be? legjobb ha hallgatunk. lásd mindegy hogy mi a vers vége.
laying aside the weight of your days your closed eyes carry you far away. tired feet agile mind.	napjaid terhét letéve csukott szemed messze visz. fáradt láb fürge ész.
one word is too few for you to understand. two words are too many for you to understand.	egy szó túl kevés ahhoz hogy megértsd. két szó túl sok ahhoz hogy megértsd.
I dash ahead never reaching my goal. sitting on the grounkd I arrive.	előre rohanok célt sose érve a földre ülve megérkezem.
birds watch the clouds man the future.	madár felhőt kémlel ember jövőt.
don't seek the word that means everything. don't seek the knowledge that knows everything. you should seek the sun that lights up everything.	ne a szót keresd mely mindent elmond! ne a tudást keresd mely mindentudó! a napot keresd mely mindent bevilágít!
your tranquility is not of this world. why should passing events disturb you your burdens do not weigh on your shoulders. you travel lightly: you don't come yet you arrive. you don't go yet you depart.	nyugalmad nem evilágról való. miért is érintenének meg múló látszatok? válladat nem nyomja terheid súlya. könnyen jársz: nem jössz és érkezel. nem mész és távozol.
glittering white snow lies on the volcano's crest. oh burning sheath!	vulkán ormán a fehéren szikrázó hó. ó tüzes hüvely!
living quietly from choice plantig trees for others to harvest.	csöndesen élsz önszántadból fát ültettél mely másnak terem.
Zen is a post showing which way the path winds up the hill. set out! but you yourself must cut the staff to cling to.	a Zen karó mely jelzi: az ösvény a hegyre merre tekereg. indulj hát! de botot magadnak te vágj a kapaszkodóhoz!
I asked for nothig and to get it I asked for nothing. and I have got it!	nem kértem semmit s hogy meg is kapjam nem kértem semmit. és meg is kaptam!
you can only live once. you can die many times.	élni csak egyszer lehet. meghalni többször.
don't be alarmed if the burden you bear determines the way you go. you cannot shed it since the burden and bearer are one and the same. no matter where you go you cannot leave yourself behind.	ne félj ha a teher mit magaddal cipelsz szabja meg utadat. terhed tőled el nem különül. mert teher és viselője egy és ugyanaz. s így bárhova mész is magadat el nem hagyhatod.
autumn leaves also fall where there's no philosophy.	ott is lehull az érett falevél hol nincs filozófia.
by turning to the outer world you may lose your soul returning to your soul the outer world is all you lose.	a külvilág felé fordulva belül magad vesztheted. bensődbe visszavonulva kívül csak a világot.
why are you obsessed by thoughts and objects? why is the half moon less pleasing than the full? why kill the god in you when it gives life? grab with any empty hand and you release nothing.	miért kapkodsz a formák és tárgyak után? miért gyönyörködtet kevésbé a félhold mint a teli? miért ölöd meg magadban a jót mert éltet? üres kézzel markolsz semmit eresztesz nyitottal.
thoughts are flags not straining from a mast but tightly held in no-one's hand.	a gondolat zászló nyélre nem feszítve erősen tartja a senki-kéz.
when you've read these words snap the book shut and you will understand something of the essence of things. for this book is neither prajna nor is it samadhi but snapped shut it may be a good lesson.	ha elolvastad ezt a mondatot csapd össze könyvemet s így megérthesz valamit a dolgok lényegéből. mert ez a könyv se nem prajna se nem szamadhi összecsapva viszont jó lecke lehet.
	prajna: transzcendens ismeret    szamadhi: misztikus egyesülés
the keeling dinghy sweeps on again following its predestined course. now where can you go? the current carried away the oars long ago.	a billent csónak ismét suhan követve kijelölt útját. hová is mehetsz? elvitte már a víz az evező botját.
showers and puddles - shining wet pavements - changing and making change.	eső és tócsa - nedves járda - változni és változtatni.
the wind blows without waiting for an answer the stream gurgles without response. it's only your mind and it's questions that call for a reply.	szél fúj válaszra nem várva folyó csobog visszhang nélkül csak elméd az mely kérdéseivel feleletre int.
clouds conceal the moon - but it is still there - your thoughts conceal you.	holdat felhő takar - mégis ott van - téged gondolataid.
I wanted to be helpful. but then I thought my wisdom is better. now I sit here indecisively. my turtle eats his lettuce with utter indifference.	segítőkész akartam lenni. majd úgy gondoltam: bölcsességem a jobb. most itt ülök tanácstalanul. teknősöm egykedvűen salátát eszik.
the greatest task is to discover what we both have in common not insisting on yourself not insisting on others. don't think this is a formula with which to reach your goal! if you already know this you will know that it isn't a great task is to discover what we both have in common.	a feladat mily nagy: megtalálni azt ami benned és bennem közös. nem ragaszkodva magadhoz nem ragaszkodva másokhoz. ne hidd hogy ez egy formula mellyel célhoz érhetsz! mindezt magadtól is tudhatod s így már láthatod a feladat nem nagy: megtalálni azt ami benned és bennem közös.
the prayers of the dumb also reach heaven.	néma ember imája is felér az égig.
above the meadows shines the sun. above all thought shines reality.	zöld mező fölött a nap. gondolat fölött is a valóság.
your life is a mirror where you see yourself gleaming. the darkness of your closed eyes is the mirror of your inner soul. which then shows your true face?	életed tükör melyben villódzva látod önmagadat. lehunyt szemed sötétje legbensőbb valód tükre. melyik mutatja hát igazi arcodat?
as soon as the hawk flies away the sparrow starts to hunt the beetle.	amint a héja elrepült bogarat les a kismadár.
my mother tells me that as a child I broke a statue of Buddha. and although I can remember nothing today the statue is comlete again.	anyám mesélte: gyermekkoromban eltörtem egy szobor Buddhát. s bár semmire nem emlékszem a szobor ma már ismét ép.
things simply happen unaccountably. it's only your imagination that seeks an explanation. it cannot explain why the mouse cringes in the treetop or why the bird sings from the ground.	egyszerűen jelennek meg a dolgok. csak képzeted mely magyarázatokat keres. nem érti hogy került gubbasztva egér az ágra madár dalt miért a földről üzen.
choose not the path or you will spoil all that is already perfect in you! let what drives your soul determine your direction. where are you going?	ne az utak közt válogass mert így elrontod mi benned már tökéletes! ami bensőd vezeti szabjon irányt! merre mész?
looking at a single point you see everything. thus vanishes the wall between within and without. going inwards you go outwards you reach ever further inwards. and so your eye beholds the two in one but remember: the outher and the inner eye are not the same.	egyetlen pontot figyelve mindent látni. így megszűnik a fal kinn és benn között. befelé haladva kifelé haladsz és kifelé haladva egyre beljebb kerülsz. szemed így jól látja mi nem volt sose különböző. de tudd: külső és belső szem nem ugyanaz.
the silence with which I speak is the word of Zen. through my silence it touches you as well. the wind blows across the roof billowing the courtains.	a csönd amellyel szólok a Zen szava. hallgatásommal érint meg téged is. a házon átfúvó szél meglebbenti a függönyöket.
